Great poem choice! Kipling gets a bad rap these days I think, but he has lots of great poems and stories, and was — like all of us — a product of his time and place.
I don’t really worry about things like when it comes to art.
Nobody is perfect and even the worst of us is capable of doing something right (there is no reason that thing can’t be writing).
That’s why I always try to judge an art piece by it own merit.
If I wouldn’t refuse to live in a house built by bad people or take a effective medicine created by shady doctors, why would why refuse to enjoy good writing?
When someone does something right, it should be acknowledged as so whether you like them or not.
